So being new to the area I get excited about local events.  Hoping wishing that they will be what my imagination has put forth.  Well so far none has yet come close to my expectations.  We had some friends up for the weekend and I had been reading on line about this “old time” Christmas in Columbia.  Wow that sounds like fun!  Well to our surprise the only thing that made it old was the town itself.  What did we find?  Well we found about twenty other people wondering a quiet yet peaceful street of the small town of Columbia.  There was no Santa, there was no festivities, and I thought what makes this an old time Christmas event?  Well I came to the conclusion nothing really made this a Christmas time event, but the pure fact of friends and family!  I guess I was hoping for some twinkling lights and Santa with the background music whispering holiday spirt.
